Boarder Crossing

My sewing machine whirled and hummed away tonight; so, I’m back to blogland with the results, just as I had promised myself!

I can’t believe I finally finished this quilt top!  (All I had left was to cut out and sew on the outer boarder…I’m 99% positive the center of it has been done for a year.)  I think I’m going to call it my Wonderland Quilt because of the bright colors and varied floral patterns.  It seems very curious to me. 

One thing I discovered tonight is that it’s very difficult to photograph a large quilt.  It’s tough to get the whole quilt in one frame, with the right lighting, not on a skewed angle and keeping the cat off it all at the same time.

Chewing on Eyeballs!

While reading through one of the many Etsy emails that pop into my inbox, a pair of eyeballs caught my own eyes!  I clicked on the image to find hannpt's irresistible cat toys peering back at me.  The price was right and my poor kitties didn't get much for Christmas, so I decided to add to my growing collection of Etsy finds!

An odd shape for a cat toy, Catnip Eyeballs are filled with organic catnip and made from recycled sweatshirt material.  As soon as the mail came in the door, my two cats were swarming!  They could smell the sweet catnip seeping out of the sealed envelope.   Within seconds of opening the package, they each claimed their own eyeball and frantically chased, bit and licked their new toy.  Unfortunately, one of them is already MIA.  It will be a good day when it's finally found!

Cat Bowl Love

After an insane amount of cutting, ironing, and sewing, I made an extra large bowl for my cat. I always refused to buy or make a cat bed.  Those animals are too finicky; I figured they'd never go for it. Too bad they love this bowl! I have two cats and one bowl, and they've been pretty good sports about sharing it...so far. I always giggle when I see a little head poking out of the top!
